Neil Pymer

A creative director/director working in film, social, creative AI, animation & interactive.
I'm an award-winning independent director working in film, animation, advertising and interactive in the entertainment and cultural sectors. I specialise in projects that are challenging to achieve, haven't been attempted before, that educate, bring about change and have strong narratives at their heart... ideally all of the above.

Projects I’ve worked on have won D&AD pencils (White, Wooden and Graphite), Gold, Silver and Bronze Cannes Lions and twice nominated for Children’s BAFTAs, amongst many others.

I talk internationally at conferences and festivals for students and professionals alike at Aardman Academy, D&AD, BFI, NME Lifehacks, House of Beautiful Business, PwC and the Prince’s Trust, inspiring them to fail fast, think like children and to get their hands dirty.

I am currently working on content creation and strategy with generative AI platforms with the aim of helping creative companies and agencies utilise this technology in a humanistic manner, unpicking and  consulting on how it can be used in traditional creative pipelines and craft.

Recent projects include working with Dyson creating social content for their audio, beauty and home sectors, helping them to connect to new audiences and develop new ways of communicating with their customers, an animated music video for Jamie Cullum’s song Age of Anxiety, What’s Up With Everyone - a set of films looking to increase mental health awareness in young people, BBC iReporter which teaches young adults to navigate the murky waters of fake news and StorySign an interactive experience that teaches deaf children to learn how to read.

If you have a project and are interested to talk about it,
please get in touch.
